I persuaded some of my family to take a vacation to Italy. This will be my 3rd time, but their first. I cancelled our trip on March 9th for a May vacation. I have been getting the run around ever since. They had a deadline of when they wanted my money, but boy oh boy once in their greasy mits, they don’t want to refund what is yours! This is horrible, customer service!! I don’t know if I will go thru Globus again, which is a shame for them as we have used them in the past and had a good time. This sheds a different light on their operation! Shame on them!!!

My April trip to Portugal was cancelled due to COVID-19 in March. Fine - I totally understand. What I don't understand is why I still have not received a refund. It seems that a lot of reviewers here are having the same problem. I have spoken to Globus many times and keep getting the same story. That story is that each cancellation has to be handled manually. That in MHO is pure =÷*%. They are holding onto our money to use it. It should not take any more that a few simple entries into their computer system to issue a refund. And this should have been done the day they called me and tried to talk me into a voucher which I prudently turned down. I really want to go on the trip at a later date but am really questioning the professionalism, actually total lack of professionalism, of Globus. They have lost my trust and I am not sure I will ever be able to bring myself to book with them again.

I was on a Globus tour a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it enough that I booked another tour with them to leave in June. It was canceled by Globus in March, due to Covid19. When they canceled, they originally said they would put my deposit towards a credit for a future trip. I immediately called them, and said that I wanted a refund, not a credit. They said they would change it, and I would get a refund. It is now almost June, and I have still not gotten my refund. I’ve called every couple of weeks, and each time they tell me that my refund should arrive soon, and I’m “in the next group” to receive it. Today I called again, and was told that I should have received it by now, and even though the cancellation was done in March, it was just put through on May 1st. I am so frustrated that now they will say another 8-10 weeks from May 1st. This is so unprofessional of them, and no way to run a company that has been around and respected for years. I was considering booking with them again in the future, but after this, I doubt I will ever use them again.

I was supposed to leave for the Portugal Escape tour on March 10, but I became concerned that I might get stranded in Europe because of the pandemic. I called on March 8 and was told the tour would go on as planned. I decided I couldn't risk the danger, and I cancelled. I was told to file the insurance claim, which I did. On March 12 President Trump banned European travel. A couple of days later I learned that Globus Journeys had in fact not proceeded with the tour. I called the company and was told that I would be issued a total refund within four weeks. I was also told I should cancel my insurance claim. I tried to do that, but I could never reach anyone at TripMate by phone. My email to them went unanswered. I called Globus Journeys more than once after that about the problem and was repeatedly told not to worry that I would get my refund.
I subsequently received a travel certificate from TripMate as a reimbursement. I called Globus Journeys again to tell them I didn't want a travel certificate, and I was told my refund would be expedited. About a half-hour later the representative called me back and told me he was cancelling my refund. He suggested I mail the certificate back to travel support services and ask for a refund. Instead I sent an email asking if I sent the travel certificate back if I would get a refund. I received a reply back that under no circumstances would I get a refund. I think the reason I got a quick reply to that was that I had also called the Dallas NBC News complaint line about the problem, and they called the company as well.
I think Globus Journeys was reckless in trying to proceed with tours when the crisis and threat to travelers became clear. Judging from the comments on this page, people who are due refunds are getting runarounds and misinformation. I would not at all be surprised to learn that Globus Journeys goes out of business, and that the travel certificate I hold is a worthless piece of paper. I can't believe they are still trying to book new tours for the future when it is not at all clear when or if travel will be possible again.

In October of 2019, my friends and I decided to travel to Peru. We booked a tour through Pavlus Travel and made a deposit of approximately $6000.

Due to Covid19, our trip to Peru was canceled. Today marks exactly 61 days since we were told that the refund was issued. (see attached) We have NOT received the refund.

We have contacted them multiple times. At first, after advising us the refund was issued, they kept insisting we accept a credit voucher instead. Wait a minute, wasn’t the refund issued already? No!

They blatantly lied, utilized unethical stalling practices to try to convince us of allowing them to keep our deposit. (see photos)

This was my first Europe trip with my twin sister and we absolutely loved it! Our tour guide, Simona, was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We decided to balance independent travel with the tour (we arrived early in the morning on the first day in Rome to explore the highlights not included on the itinerary and spent an additional two days on our own in Paris at the end of the tour). We also booked flights on our own, though Globus' options to add on flights with airport transfer is pretty convenient. I'm glad we added on travel on our own because this tour is just that, a highlights tour! We got to see a lot in a short period of time, but, there's no way you can see it all. I still feel like I could've spent longer in Paris. I definitely wanted to see more of Florence. In Paris, we went on our own to explore the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. We didn't have time for Montmartre.

The organization of the entire tour was great and having both Simona and local guides was great-- there's nothing like learning about a city through the eyes of the locals. I appreciated that Globus allows you to upgrade, add additional nights in their hotels at the end, and also, let's you add on optional excursions. Everything was a great price. I did research on my own and it was truly a great value. I thought the hotels were very nice and the included breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We added on quite a few excursions: the Florentine Dinner, Mount Pilatus, Dinner Party and Illumination Drive, and Excursion to the Palace of Versailles. I felt the Florentine Dinner, Mount Pilatus, and the Palace of Versailles were absolute musts. As I mentioned, the tour is fast-paced and you are moving around a lot! It requires early wake-up, but there's time to sleep on the bus. It's convenient that Globus and the bus driver takes care of moving your bags around, as you are moving from city-to-city, another bonus of using a tour company.
